Recruiting Update

Earlier this week Penn State picked up a verbal commitment from Khairi Forrt from Stamford, Conn.  Khairi at 6'2 220 pounds is ranked as one of the top 5 linebacker prospects in the nation.  The real story here is the amount of talent the coaching staff has on board with this class.  It may be the highest ranked class Joe Paterno has ever had, with a chance to be ranked as the #1 recruiting class in the country.  To get the ranking we'll need to land commitments from Sharrif Floyd one of the top Defensive Tackles in the country and from Marcus Lattimore who is ranked the #1 Running Back in the country.  Floyd is from the Philadelphia area and has already been to Florida and USC on official visits.  He'll be visiting Penn State soon, and hopefully we can land him.  As for Lattimore, he'll be at Penn State for the Ohio State game and in order to land this South Carolina player we'll need some luck getting him to come north of the Mason-Dixon line, but he appears to have serious interest in Penn State and has already visited once over the summer.
